EXPERIENCE DETAILS
An 8-day, 1,600-km journey through the heart of Italy, retracing the 19th-century Grand Tour, from the curves of the Emilian Apennines to the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. The departure from the Ducati Museum marks the start of six stages that combine a passion for riding with culture and unique landscapes: from the legendary Futa and Raticosa passes, where the Ducati Multistrada V2 S and V4 S were born, to the medieval villages of Tuscany, from ancient Roman ruins to the timeless landscapes of the Amalfi Coast.
An itinerary that traverses the heart of the country, between mountains, hills, and the sea, for an unforgettable two-wheeled experience.
Eight days of travel, an 1,600 kilometer descent southward, into the heart of Italy: from the rolling hills of Emilia to the intense blue of the Amalfi Coast, through curves that reveal timeless landscapes and picture-postcard views. An epic journey that retraces some of the stages of the 19th-century Grand Tour: a long journey undertaken in the past by young aristocrats to perfect their knowledge and enrich their spirit. In collaboration with Dainese, Ducati reinterprets this legend with a modern twist, in the saddle of the Ducati Multistrada V2 S, V4 S, and V4 Rally MY 2026, the ideal companions for those who experience riding on the road as freedom, excitement, and authenticity. An itinerary that traverses central Italy like a backbone, following the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines through curves, villages suspended in time, and landscapes that constantly change, kilometer after kilometer. The starting point could only be the Ducati Museum, where we admire the bikes that have shaped the Borgo Panigale company’s 100-year history. The first few kilometers immediately take us to the legendary roads where some of the most iconic Ducatis were born: the Raticosa, Giogo, and Futa passes, with perfect hairpins immersed in the Apennine forests, a true baptism into life in the saddle. The Mugello Circuit is an unmissable stop, a temple of speed where the most epic chapters in MotoGP history have been written. From here, Tuscany opens up before us with its rolling, undulating hills, until we reach the Siena region and the famous SR222, the Chiantigiana, one of Italy's most charming roads, winding through vineyards, cypress trees, and villages that are more like paintings. Our arrival in Siena brings the first day to a close like a Renaissance painting: stone piazzas, ancient towers, and the scent of earth and wind accompanying the silence of the evening. The journey continues through increasingly surprising scenery: the Crete Senesi, with their lunar landscape and sinuous roads, and then a stop in one of the most poetic places in the country, Civita di Bagnoregio, the “dying city”, perched on a tuff spur. Entering the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the tour reveals its most spectacular side. The third stage takes us to dreamlike places: Castelluccio di Norcia, with its endless plateaus; Campo Imperatore, often called Italy’s Little Tibet; and the timeless magic of Rocca Calascio, one of Europe's most evocative fortresses. Night welcomes us to Santo Stefano di Sessanio, a medieval village where silence and stone tell ancient stories. The fourth day is dedicated to the natural beauty of Abruzzo, passing through Scanno and its gorges, amidst tall mountains and unexpected views, before descending towards Rome, where the journey intertwines with the history and grandeur of the capital. A guided tour takes us into the heart of Rome, between the majestic profile of the Colosseum and the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica. The route then continues south, crossing the Latina area and the greenery of the Monti Aurunci Park, a succession of curves and panoramas that will accompany us all the way to Isernia, at the heart of a more authentic and hidden Italy. The final day awaits us with the grand finale: a last stretch of riding through the Matese Park, amidst mountains and woods, and then the majesty of the Royal Palace of Caserta, before slowly descending towards the sea. And finally Amalfi, the natural and scenic finish line of this Expedition Master South Italy: the Mediterranean light, the cliffs, the scents of the coast, and the feeling of having traversed an entire country on your bike, bend after bend, where every kilometer becomes an emotion, and every emotion, a memory.
