Smart Jacket Leather is the Dainese premium leather vest that incorporates the Dainese D-air® airbag system, the pinnacle of motorcycle protection in a road garment.
Smart Jacket Leather combines the versatility of a soft, resistant cowhide vest with the intelligence and superior protection of the Dainese D-air® airbag system, which automatically recognizes dangerous situations for the rider and activates to protect back and chest with the Shield, the airbag with patented microfilament technology. This exclusive tech solution allows uniform protection and inflation over the whole coverage area, without the need for hardshell protective gear.
Thermal comfort and ventilation for the hottest days are guaranteed by the perforated leather panels in strategic areas of the jacket. The adjustable internal lumbar band allows precise adjustment of the jacket’s fit at the waist.
The microelastic leather inserts on the shoulders allow greater freedom of movement when riding and away from the bike.
The Velcro panel on the chest allows you to customize Smart Jacket Leather by applying removable patches for your motorcycle group.

How to size your Smart Jacket:
The Smart Jacket can be worn over or under any jacket. To select your correct sizing, just follow these simple steps:

If you are planning to wear the Smart Jacketunder your riding jacket , just measure your chest size first wearing what you will wear when riding (base layers, t-shirt, fleece..)
Please note: It is recommended that you have 5cm (2inch) of space between your base layers and Smart Jacket both on the front and on the back to leave the correct room in case of an activation. -
If you are planning to wear the Smart Jacket over your riding jacket,just measure your chest while wearing it.
If your jacket has armour, please ensure they are in before measuring. - Once you defined the correct chest sizing, just follow the sizing guide below to select the most appropriate Smart Jacket size.
There is a reasonable degree of expansion in the jacket and it should fit under / over most items based on your standard chest size, the only variance could be over a big bulky touring jacket for example.

How to take measurements?
Height
The distance measured vertically between the top of the head and the soles of the person's feet (without shoes) in an upright position, standing with feet together.
Chest
Chest circumference
The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.
Neck
Neck circumference
The circumference measured at 2 cm below the Adam's apple in the front, and at the 7th cervical vertebra in the back (i.e. NOT horizontally).
Waist
Waist circumference
The circumference measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
