D Air Ski 2 Evo is the latest evolution of the most advanced protection ever used on Downhill and Super-G slopes by World Cup athletes. Invisible, lightweight and ergonomic, imperceptible until activation, only when needed. The smart airbag system now integrates a new activation and adjustment system on the front belt, inside the FidLock magnetic buckle, as well as innovative 3D electronics, the same featured by Smart Jacket and Smart Air, controlled via the D-air® app (only in competition mode). The electronics’ cover plate is also new, smaller than in the previous version. Innovations that guarantee the highest level of protection and freedom of movement for athletes, so that they can give their best on every slope, even in the most extreme racing conditions.
Owing to the synergetic interaction of accelerometers, gyroscopes and GPS – and to its sophisticated algorithm, developed over 20 years of experience in the most extreme environments – D Air Ski 2 Evo recognizes the dynamics of a fall and activates the Shield, an airbag with patented microfilament technology that ensures even protection over the athletes’ entire chest area. The innovative D-air® FRS (Fast Replacement System) allows for up to three activations before airbag replacement is needed and after activation the gas generator can easily be replaced autonomously, which makes for a quick return to the slope.
Comfort and maximum protection over the back area are guaranteed by the back protector, which feels comfortable and light once on, owing to its special composition.
The lightness of D Air Ski 2 Evo combines with maximum freedom of movement owing to its ergonomic fit – the joint of the back protector’s lower plates allows it to adapt to the athlete's body, so that it follows skiers' movements without hindrance and without creating any annoying bulk.

How to take measurements?
Height
The distance measured vertically between the top of the head and the soles of the person's feet (without shoes) in an upright position, standing with feet together.
Chest
Chest circumference
The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.
Waist
Waist circumference
The circumference measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
Waist - Shoulder height
The choice of the correct size of a back protector, according to the standard, is determined by the waist-shoulder height. This is the difference in height between the midpoint of the shoulder and the waistline (immediately above the hipbone). According to the Dainese standard, this measurement must then be qualified by the correct dimension of waist strap, identified by a size (ex: XS, S, M ...). It is not correct to define the measure of the backprotector on the basis of the height of the person, because even if the back could have the same dimension, the legs could have a different lenght.
