Biography
Born in San Marino on February 14, 1983, Manuel Poggiali has won two world titles: 125cc in 2001, and 250cc in 2003. In total, he has 12 wins, 35 podiums, 7 fastest laps and 11 poles between 1998 and 2008.
Known as Poggy by his friends, his first mini motorcycle would go on to be the first for Sic, as well. Whether soccer, cycling, going to the gym, or running, he’s passionate about and finds an outlet in all sports. He believes in the values that come from sports. His father, with whom he says he spent too little time, taught him humility. He believes the first victory is never forgotten, and he loves his grandmothers’ gnocchi and ravioli; he also loves Italian flatbread sandwiches, and science fiction movies. He is a motorcycle riding instructor, and his favorite moments are those spent at home with his family, wife and children.
