As you approach the city, the Great Salt Lake appears, immense and motionless, with reflections changing from gray to pink to gold.

Salt Lake City appears bright and orderly. The center is large and quiet, ideal for a short stop, perhaps at Temple Square.

Then it’s time to set off again, headed north: the landscape turns green and the road enters Logan Canyon, among pine trees, rocks, and streams. After the curves, Bear Lake suddenly appears, with its deep turquoise nestled among the mountains. 

Bear Lake - Jackson Hole

The landscape gradually changes: the plains are transformed, you enter Idaho through Idaho Falls, and the path continues along the Snake River, while the mountains begin to dominate the horizon.

Continuing on, you’ll arrive in Wyoming, crossing wide grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see.

The mountains of Grand Teton National Park suddenly emerge, vertical and severe, as if freshly carved. The road runs along the foot of the Teton Range, between still lakes that reflect the peaks and dark pines that smell of resin.

Jackson Hole - West Yellowstone

The road climbs gently an becomes wilder, the woods thicken, and the sky broadens. Then, you’ll enter Yellowstone National Park, a place that seems to breathe under your wheels. Here the land is alive: smoking, hissing, seething.

The Old Faithful geyser finally appears, rising powerfully into the sky, while the pools shine with unreal colors. Wander along wooden walkways suspended above pools of impossible shades: deep blues, glowing oranges, acid greens.

The arrival in Lakeview rewards you with the authentic atmosphere of the small communities of the American West, known as the ‘Tallest Town in Oregon’ for its altitude (1,460 m). Lakeview - Trinity National Forest

Ride along the legendary California State Route 36, considered by many American motorcyclists to be one of the most fun roads in the United States: endless curves, canyons, mountains and remote valleys. Here, riding becomes pure connection between rider, bike, and the road.

The further south you go, the more the Pacific takes a starring role, among forests, cliffs and spectacular ocean views.

The arrival in Mendocino offers one of the most iconic endings of the trip: a small town suspended above the Pacific, amid historic wooden houses, windswept cliffs and endless sunsets.

Here time seems to slow down. Waves crash beneath high cliffs, the air smells of salt spray and forests, and the golden lights of evening transform the California coast into an almost cinematic landscape.

Mendocino - San Francisco

The Pacific Ocean accompanies every moment of this leg along one of the most scenic roads in North America, California State Route 1, which runs like a thin thread between cliffs and blue chasms: at times, the ocean roars crashing against the cliff, while at others, it disappears behind dense forests.
