EXPERIENCE DETAILS

7 days, 1,300 km, an escape into an earthly paradise. An extreme land, with its active volcanoes and glaciers, and a journey created in collaboration with Ducati along breathtaking roads and routes, in the saddle of the new Ducati DesertX.

An exclusive experience in an extraordinary country, where you can put yourself to the test in the saddle of a maxienduro bike and learn to face the elements, from fords to stretches of black desert, and experience the essence of nature in all its power and beauty.

Three separate Expeditions are scheduled for the following dates:

18 – 24 July 2026

25 – 31 July 2026

02 – 08 August 2026

Please select the dates you are interested in when filling out the form.

It will be a mostly off-road expedition to discover one of the most beautiful places on Earth, in the heart of Iceland – the Landmannalaugar nature reserve, crossed by a winding track full of ups and downs among wonderful landscapes, where the black of the lava sand creates an extraordinary contrast with the phosphorescent green of the mosses. We will follow some lava flows from the most recent eruptions up to the top of the volcano Hekla.

We will then enter the Fjallabak black desert, surrounded by mountains of lava, rushing streams and large snowfields.

The journey will also take us to the black beach of Vík, the waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Gullfoss, and Geysir, the highest geyser in Iceland and its jet, which is over 30 meters high.

Crossing the endless lava deserts to the peaks of snow-covered volcanoes, an expert guide will ensure that each participant learns and develops the techniques required to ride safe and relaxed, in any weather condition, in order to fully enjoy all of the island’s natural attractions, including geysers, waterfalls, fjords, and lakes.

Along the way, specific off-road riding training will be provided, to help participants improve their technique and get the most pleasure from riding – all in total safety.

A 4x4 support vehicle will transport your luggage so that you can ride unencumbered, especially in the more challenging off-road stretches.

A photography and video crew will follow the expedition and create a photo shoot, a copy of which will be given to all participants at the end of the trip.

The itinerary also allows time for daily short independent excursions, taking pictures and enjoying Iceland’s splendid Arctic landscape. A land forgotten by time, where nature and motorcycle come together in a rare combination – the quintessential adventure on two wheels.

Climate

Iceland features an alpine climate. Temperatures are lower at higher altitudes, but vary according to slope: the southern slope is warmer, while inland areas and the northern slopes tend to be colder. Iceland’s weather is extremely fickle: within a single day, several precipitations may alternate with periods of clear skies and mild temperatures.

In July daytime temperatures range between 13 and 20 °C. At night, temperatures can be as low as 5/6 °C.

Each participant will have a new Ducati DesertX at their disposal, equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires, ideal for safely tackling the Icelandic lava trails.
