Biography

Born in Neuchâtel on October 29, 1996, Loïc Meillard is part of a family entirely dedicated to alpine skiing – his younger sister Mélanie is also a professional athlete and competes in the World Cup. Loïc made his FIS race debut in November 2011, and in January 2014 he took part in a European Cup event for the first time. His World Cup debut came a year later, with his appearance in giant slalom in Adelboden. Still in giant slalom, in December 2018 Loïc achieved his first podium, 2nd in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. In 2020 came his first win and World Cup success in parallel slalom. In the 2023/2024 season, Loïc finished second in both the overall Cup and giant slalom standings. The Swiss skier also boasts 6 world championship medals, 2 of which gold, taken in the slalom and the team combined at the 2025 World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
