The Antarctica GORE-TEX® 2 jacket is the most advanced motorcycle touring garment, ideal when exploring the coldest lands on the planet. Designed to ensure superlative thermal insulation and greater protection in the most extreme conditions. Inspired by research into the human body’s lines of non-extension, used by Dainese and MIT when designing the space suits that NASA astronauts will wear on their journey to Mars, this jacket combines maximum protective technology with ergonomics that ensure total freedom of movement in the saddle. The 20,000 mm GORE-TEX® laminated membrane serves as a shield against rain, snow and atmospheric agents, allowing its wearer to tackle long journeys in all conditions, with the benefit of maximum breathability. The 700 Fill Power down lining, which is removable and can be worn separately, offers ultimate thermal insulation, essential when exploring in the coldest climates on earth. Large front air vents directed to the body are easy to operate while wearing gloves and allow the wearer to set the ideal level of ventilation for maximum comfort when traveling. Antartica 2 GORE-TEX® is designed to offer maximum practicality even on the most demanding journeys. Two floating, waterproof side pockets, a large waterproof cargo pocket on the back, and the iconic external G.O. Pockets for the stowing of gloves during short breaks allow the wearer to conveniently store all essential equipment so that it is always close at hand. Protection in every situation is guaranteed by Pro-Armor Lev. 2, Type B protectors on the shoulders and elbows, which boast the highest level of certification and coverage area for limb protectors, while ventilation and freedom of movement are guaranteed by Dainese Pro-Armor technology, inspired by the geometries of natural fractals. A pocket on the back allows for the insertion of a removable Pro-Armor back protector. The areas most sensitive to impact are reinforced with exclusive Trixior D-Tec, an engineered fabric that is highly resistant to abrasion and wear. Its electronic processing ensures the optimum thickness and structure so as to faithfully trace the body’s movements. The jacket also features an advanced ergonomic lumbar belt for fit adjustment and neoprene cuffs.
The most advanced motorbike outfit made to explore in the coldest climates
GORE-TEX® is a technology that ensure unique and long lasting waterproof, windproof and breathability performance in different conditions of use. Garments treated with GORE-TEX® technology offer superior performance and durability.
Fill Power is the volume-to-weight ratio of goose down filling that provides a clear indicator of product quality. The loftier the individual plumes are, the fewer are needed to obtain the desired volume. Consequently, the higher the Fill Power, the higher the down's quality: high volume, low weight. 700 Fill Power provides motorcycle garments with exceptional insulation as well as the highest degree of lightness.
These pockets are specifically to move according to the riding position and ensure easy access without compromising the fit.
The unique external G.O. Pockets are an exclusive and extremely functional feature for true adventure lovers. These pockets are designed to quickly store gloves during short breaks and allow to conveniently keep all essential equipment always close at hand.
The external adjustable lumbar belt ensures a perfect fit and offers the possibility to make adjustments without opening the jacket.
Safety sets the rider free. Antartica 2 integrates removable Pro-Armor Lev. 2, Type B protectors on the elbows and shoulders. Pro-Armor technology offers limbs the highest level of protection as well as full mobility and exceptional ventilation, owing to its soft structure inspired by natural fractals and its 40% ventilated surface. With no rigid or bulky materials, their construction allows total freedom of movement and increased comfort when riding, whatever the situation.
D-TEC Engineered Hyper Fabric – Stemming from Dainese‘s most advanced material research, TRIXIOR is a one-of-a-kind material, the result of revolutionary technology. Through virtual prototyping, Dainese technicians have successfully created a fabric with controlled geometry and thickness, where each area is made by weaving materials with different properties. This same technology was also used to insert highly reflective threads in the most exposed zones, for optimized results.
From the advanced technologies developed for the aerospace Biosuits™, thanks to studies of the lines of non-extension in the human body, a new standard in ergonomics and superior comfort is born.
