The iconic and Dainese’s leather track suit with the latest generation of the D-air® airbag technology, revisited to enhance comfort and protection.

It features new ergonomics like the knee grips inserts, self-locking zippers on wrists, maintaining its legendary fit.

High safety standards are upgraded by new sliders on elbows and integrated knee protectors with unexposed stitching.

3rd generation D-air® is fully embedded into the suit and integrates the Track-It system, that allows to download and check main performance data like lean angle and speed.

MADE FOR THE RACETRACK

More than 20 years of testing on the most demanding MotoGP circuits in the world made possible the development of a specific D-air® for racing, capable to detect automatically the hazardous situations on the track and to protect key areas, activating before an actual impact on the body.

DETECTION AND ACTIVATION

Thanks to its intelligent algorithm, Dainese D-air® recognizes the dynamic of a fall and it activates in the event of different hazardous situations.

HIGHSIDE:
The rider is thrown from the bike due to a rear wheel sliding followed by unexpected regained traction.

LOWSIDE
with and without tumbling: The front or rear wheel loses traction and the rider rolls or slides.

THE AIRBAG IS WHAT MAKES D-AIR® UNIQUE

It controls air to create the effective Shield that surrounds the rider’s body in case of an impact. Other airbags, when exposed to the extreme pressure generated by the propagation of air, they deform, jeopardising the protection in some areas. Dainese D-air®’s patented Microfilaments Technology ensures that the air that inflates the airbag propagates in balanced way.

THE HEART​

A patented internal Microfilaments Technology ensures that the air that inflates the airbag propagates in balanced way. The result is that every single centimeter of the area is covered by effective protection.

THE BRAIN​

D-air® Racing is an Intelligent Protection System (I.P.S.) that vaunts airbag technology. The System is capable of perceiving an incipient fall and triggering the inflation of the airbag, increasing the level of safety for the rider.

THE SOFTWARE AND ITS ALGORITHM ARE THE CORE OF D-AIR® BRAIN

The electronic control unit detects and analyses data from the sensors 1.000 times per second. Since Dainese D-air® airbag system has been developed for over 25 years, our algorithm has been refined in order to guarantee the highest level of reliability and safety.

STAND ALONE: JUST SWITCH IT ON AND RIDE

Dainese D-air® doesn’t need any connection with the motorbike. Its activation is run by the wireless electronic control unit and by the patented sophisticated algorithm.

SAFETY

METAL INSERTS

The use of metal inserts made of titanium, steel, aluminum or special alloys offers greater abrasion resistance in the joint areas of the body, reduces the risk of dangerous twists and/or tumbling during a fall, and distributes impact force over a wider surface area.

REPLACEABLE SLIDER SYSTEM (RSS)

Dainese patented a new design of the second-generation RSS slider system. The new product features a re-engineered slider profile and elbow construction, plus seamlessly integrated titanium armor for a substantial reduction in weight, improved fit and usability. Moreover, an innovative quick-release system makes replacing the slider quick, simple and reliable.

SUIT TO BOOT FASTENING SYSTEM

Suit To Boot Fastening System is an exclusive Dainese patent. This technology allows for the boots to be worn under a dedicated suit. It has been developed to guarantee the best level of safety, as it reduces the number of garment parts that might get caught in the motorcycle during a fall. The technology also ensures better aerodynamics and comfort thanks to the reduction of the boots‘ volume and the increased adherence of the rider‘s leg to the vehicle.

ERGONOMICS

D-SKIN 2.0 LEATHER

D-Skin 2.0 represents a further level of excellence achieved by the D-Tec Department. This material reaches new standards in terms of abrasion, traction and tear resistance while being extremely comfortable thanks to its softness and flexibility. D-Skin 2.0 is made of strictly selected full grain cowhide leather, characterized by long intact fibers. It maintains the same thickness of other cowhide leathers present in the collection. Special treatments with resins and silicon waxes enhance the technical features of this excellent leather. D-Skin 2.0 Leather is normally between 1.1-1.3 mm thick.

BI-AXIAL ELASTICATED INSERTS

Bi-axial is a Dainese patented technology that thanks to leather elasticated inserts provides superior safety and abrasion protection while allowing total freedom of movement. The elasticated leather panel stretches perpendicularly in two directions, offering great freedom of movement around the kidney area (when in racing position) as well as in the chest area and arms.

MICRO-ELASTIC

This Dainese patented technology has raised safety and comfort to new levels: it consists of one large panel in leather with elasticated bellows stretching perpendicularly in two directions, width and length, offering the wearer greater freedom of movement in the kidney area (when hunched over the fuel tank) as well as in the chest area and arms.

S1 FABRIC

S1 fabric was developed to improve comfort and also to facilitate airflow through the garment. This material is made of elastomer coated with cordura polyamide, which gives it unmatched mechanical strength and elastic properties to guarantee excellent comfort levels. Nanotechnologies are applied to ensure the best water-/oil-repellent properties.

VENTILATION

LOCALIZED PERFORATION

Dainese patented technology that allows to localize perforation only in those areas where aeration is absolutely necessary and away from seams, guaranteeing greater safety and comfort.

3D BUBBLE LINER

Designed and tested to meet the needs of racers like Valentino Rossi, this special three-dimensional fabric enables an air chamber to be created between the inside and the outside of the garment; this chamber forms an insulating liner that maintains an ideal microclimate during both summer and winter.
