Dainese at ISPO 2019 with the new D-air® ski and AWA black
D-air® Ski is making its market debut as Dainese's most significant innovation for 2019. Already in use by the leading Alpine Ski World Cup athletes, the D-air® airbag designed specifically for racing will soon hit stores. This D-air® Ski protection system exponentially increases safety levels for Downhill and Super Giant Slalom competitors.
The D-air® system is an intelligent airbag that inflates in a controlled manner with uniform pressure, creating a protective shield around the skier's body. The heart of the system is the airbag, with its internal microfilaments that prevent deformation and allow the highest level of protection across its entire surface. The system's brain is its deployment algorithm, artificial intelligence that recognizes the beginning of a fall and prompts airbag inflation.
AWA Black is making its debut during this season of winter sports. This is the Dainese collection designed for use at 360° and it is the latest evolution of AWA – All Weather Activity – technology. The highly technical products are meant for the modern skier who takes an athletic approach to life off the slopes as well. The range includes three jackets for both men and women: AWA Black Knit, AWA Black Parka, and AWA Black Jacket. Each jacket is constructed with a high-tech membrane made of materials like
Gore-Tex® and D-Dry®, and with natural, eco-sustainable fillings including Merino Down, Microrollo, goose feathers, and baby camel wool. These materials ensure that all the garments are extremely lightweight, each one weighing less than 1 kg (2.2 lb). The line is completed by base layers like the AWA Black Mid pullover and the AWA Black Shirt.
The HP – Hard Pack – collection still gives a voice to the historic core of Dainese. The HP line is dedicated to the most demanding skiers who expect maximum performance from their ski wear. For 2019, HP has been updated but remains true to itself. The new HP1 M1 is the most important addition to the line. Now the top model in the range, it is the first jacket on the market to feature the Dainese Flexagon removable level 2 back protector. The HP1 M1 construction incorporates premium materials such as the Dermizax EV outer membrane and Primaloft Silver filling. The entire HP line has been extended with the introduction of many new color options.
