SOFIA GOGGIA AND DAINESE, CONTRACT RENEWED UNTIL 2020

Sofia Goggia, Italian World Cup Alpine ski racer, really needs no introduction after achieving incredible results in the 2016-2017 season. Sofia is one of the best athletes in Italian skiing history, gaining World Cup podium results and a bronze World Championship medal at the start of 2017. Goggia went on to obtain podium positions at her first ever World Cup win in March 2017 in the downhill in Jeongseon, South Korea and followed this victory by going on to win Super-G the following day for her thirteenth World Cup podium of the season.

This rising star in the Alpine Racing world has renewed for a further three seasons her contract with Dainese, who have supported her since the very beginning of her career.

‘’I am excited to continue working with Dainese, it is an honour for me to be a testimonial for one of the Italian industrial excellences. The company has supported me since the beginning of my career in 2009. There’s always been a great feeling and I know this partnership will continue grow and last for long time into the future. I love the fact that I can exchange ideas with the Dainese technicians and give my contribution for materials’ developments” stated Sofia Goggia.

When out on the snow, Sofia relies on Dainese’s comprehensive race protection collection comprising of: WC Carbon Helmet, providing the highest degree of protection thanks to a Dual Density EPS inner shell and a carbon fibre outer shell. For back protection, Goggia favours the breathable, low profile Flexagon back protector and the hard shell Action Wave Pro protector, according to race conditions. Dainese athletes are also provided with exclusive gloves which combine a leather structure with Carbon and Titanium protective inserts. Goggia can also be seen donning the Frequency goggles, Carbon Armguards and Shinguards that have been specifically designed for the needs of World Cup racers.

It is also worth noting that Goggia is the first athlete to use the women’s version of Dainese’s highly advanced air bag protection technology, the D-air® Ski. Goggia and Dainese are collaborating during training to advance and improve the system even further.
All this is in line with their mission to promote and guarantee safety in dynamic sports, Dainese renews its commitment to supporting young talents, providing them with the maximum level of protective technology, just as they have done for Valentino Rossi for more than 20 years.
