NASA Space Apps Challenge

As part of a broader cooperation with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and European Space Agency (ESA), Dainese was invited to join the jury at the 6th edition of the International Space App Challenge, a massive hackathon organized by NASA that occurred on April 29-30.

The event took place simultaneously in 187 cities over 69 countries around the world, with 25,000 participants involved and a reach of 40 million people with the #SpaceApps hashtag. Coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, and everyone enthusiastic about space came together to address contemporary challenges concerning both space exploration and social needs on the Earth.

Dainese’s Strategic Projects Manager Marcello Bencini joined the event as a member of the jury, naming the global winning teams and rewarding the winners of the “People’s Choice” awards. The prize consists of a visit to Dainese’s R&D Department – where they will be able to see the projects carried on together with the ESA – and of some colorful T-shirts by Dainese.
