Joan Mir celebrates his championship win at The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur

They hadn’t had the time. The frenetic pace that the Far Eastern triple-header sets for the stars and staff of the MotoGP circus had prevented the Leopard Racing team from enjoying the celebration it had been craving all season.
As soon as Joan Mir set foot in the garage at Phillip Island, as the newly crowned Moto3 World Champion, there was cheering, the inevitable photos and rivers of champagne. Then it was straight on with the task of packing the bikes, material and trophies to be sent to Sepang.
On Thursday evening then, just prior to the Malaysian Grand Prix, the entire team came together for an official dinner in the spectacular setting of the Petronas Twin Towers, with celebrative t-shirts and, of course, the number 36 Honda steed, to the delight of fans, tourists and passers-by – it took just 3 minutes to send the Kuala Lumpur traffic into chaos!
