Manfred Moelgg strives for perfection, which has driven him to compete on top of the world for many years. Constant, professional research has earned Manfred more than one positive result. His curriculum boasts three medals and a special slalom World Cup. Brother of Manuela, the two have a unique relationship strengthened by mutual support, a demonstration of how their family has always served as driver and inspiration for both.
Born in 1982, his début in the World Cup was in 2003, and in spite of some general ups and downs, he has always been amongst the best in the world. His best results in the World Cup came during the 2007-2008 season when he took to the podium six times (four special slaloms and two giant slaloms), before achieving his first victory on 9 March in the Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) slalom. Then, on 15 March he won the World Cup in special slalom, becoming the sixth Italian to win a male speciality Cup after Gustav Thöni, Piero Gros, Alberto Tomba, Peter Runggaldier and Giorgio Rocca.
