People say that he matured late and that he took a very long time to work his way up in the World Cup, but eventually Alexander Khoroshilov shot upwards, becoming one of the big names on the skiing circuit. Born in 1984, this Russian athlete had the patience to develop his talents without giving up, improving day after day until achieving third place in the final 2014/2015 slalom standings. Initially driven towards fast combined disciplines, he specialised in slalom after the Sochi Olympics in 2014, the season he finishedamong the top 30 in the world standings for the discipline.
He works with dedication and passion, which combine with his quiet introversion to make him a solid contender. His tranquillity is also due to another important milestone in his life: becoming a father. Believe it or not, parenthood has given him more confidence and awareness of his talent. Indeed, he placed 5th in the special slalom at the 2017 St. Moritz World Championship.
