STELVIO D-air® D-Dry® XT motorcycle jacket with built-in airbag system offering all the comfort of a waterproof touring garment and the safety of the D-air® airbag developed by Dainese through 25 years of research and testing in the most extreme conditions. The Dainese D-air® airbag system, which doesn’t require connection to the motorcycle, recognizes dangerous situations and is activated when needed to protect the rider. The airbag is inflated using microfilament technology placed over the back and chest. The Pro-Armor 2.0 protectors on the shoulders and elbows, which are designed to offer maximum comfort in terms of lightness and flexibility, high levels of ventilation and EN 1621.1-certified level 2 protection, serve as an additional safety guarantee. STELVIO D-AIR® D-DRY® XT is an EN 17092:2020-certified motorcycle jacket suitable for long-distance trips in any weather condition, due to its waterproof, breathable and four-way stretch D-Dry® XT membrane that guarantees exceptional protection against rain and atmospheric agents, while leaving maximum freedom of movement and comfort. The air vents with waterproof zipper closure present on both the front and back ensure breathability and cool air on hot days. To ensure a perfect fit, the STELVIO D-AIR® D-DRY® XT jacket has an internal lumbar elastic band, for adjusting the fit at the waist, and further adjustments are possible using the buckles on the hips, the Velcro on the wrists and the snap buttons on the arms.

Dainese D-air® specific version for the road use is engineered with the same technologies adopted in MotoGP but designed to meet street use peculiar needs. The airbag of D-air® covers the most sensible areas of the rider, while the electronic control unit is calibrated to detect hazardous situations on the road and to activate before an actual impact on the body. From Mountain passes to city streets, superior protection to fully enjoy every journey.
It controls air to create the effective Shield that surrounds the rider’s body in case of an impact. Other airbags, when exposed to the extreme pressure generated by the propagation of air, they deform, jeopardising the protection in some areas. Dainese D-air®’s patented Microfilaments Technology ensures that the air that inflates the airbag propagates in balanced way.

The electronic control unit detects and analyses data from the sensors 1.000 times per second. Since Dainese D-air® airbag system has been developed for over 25 years, our algorithm has been refined in order to guarantee the highest level of reliability and safety.
Dainese D-air® doesn’t need any connection with the motorbike. Its activation is run by the wireless electronic control unit and by the patented sophisticated algorithm.
The Dainese D-air® airbag system protects the rider's back and vital parts with its Shield, the patented airbag with microfilaments that ensures high shock absorption capacity without the need for hardshell protective gear. Safety sets the rider free. Smart Jacket LS integrates removable Pro-Armor Lev. 2, Type B protectors on the elbows and shoulders. Pro-Armor technology offers limbs the highest level of protection as well as full mobility and exceptional ventilation, owing to its soft structure inspired by natural fractals and its 40% ventilated surface.With no rigid or bulky materials, their construction allows total freedom of movement and increased comfort when riding, whatever the situation.
D-Dry® XT Membrane is the evolution of D-Dry® membrane and brings a new level of comfort to laminated, waterproof motorcycle gear. This technology is embodied by the laminated 4-way stretch membrane that provides optimum comfort together with guaranteed impermeability to water and air. Its elevated breathability ensures the evaporation of perspiration in all weather conditions.
D-Stone™ is an extremely tough material mainly used for Dainese boots and textile clothing. D-Stone is made of high density twisted nylon with elasticated inserts faced with nylon. This creates an armored weave effect that offers exceptional comfort characterized by high resistance to abrasion, damage, and tear, with a performance comparable to leather. The S1 version S1 (without resin coating) features Protector treatment. The S1P1 version, in addition to Protector treatment, also features a breathable, windproof polyurethane resin coating. Protector treatment grants the fabric excellent water- and oil-repellent properties. The material does not require ironing to re-acquire its properties: air drying it after washing is sufficient. This treatment was developed thanks to the application of nanotechnology to textile finishing.

Chest circumference
The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.
Sleeve length from shoulder (arm straight)
The distance from the most protruding point of the shoulder to the wrist (on the end of the Ulna bone), measured with the arm relaxed at the person's side.
Neck circumference
The circumference measured at 2 cm below the Adam's apple in the front, and at the 7th cervical vertebra in the back (i.e. NOT horizontally).
Waist circumference
The circumference measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
