Lorenzo Baldassarri, born in San Severino Marche on 6 November 1996, is among the greatest talents to have emerged in recent years from the Italian motorcycling firmament and from the VR46 Riders Academy.


After debuting in the Moto3 class in 2013 with FTR of the Gresini team, “Balda” graduated to the Moto2 class in 2014 to race with a Suter of the same team. In 2015 he moved to the Forward Racing team and clinched his first podium at Phillip Island. In 2016 he came second in the Italian GP and won his long-awaited first place at Misano, before an ecstatic audience. At the end of the 2017 season, “Balda” parted ways with the Forward Racing team to join the Pons Team.
