Guy Martin completed his successful TT campaign by finishing the Pokerstars Senior TT race in second place. He secured four podiums from five starts at this year's Isle of Man TT races and narrowly missed out on victory in yesterday's race.

Starting from third on the grid, the Lincoln lad lead the field at the opening checkpoint at Glen Helen and held the P1 position for two of the six laps. Also battling for the coveted Senior TT victory, John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey were hot on Martin's heels and the three riders were involved in a tight battle during the six-lap race.

At the chequered flag, following two hours of high-speed thrilling action, Martin took his twelfth career TT podium just seven seconds down on the eventual race-winner, Honda TT Legend John McGuinness. Martin set a personal best lap speed of 131.038mph aboard his Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing GSX-R machine.

On Wednesday Martin scored his third TT podium of the week, during the second Monster Energy Supersport race. At the end of the first lap Martin was just over a second down on McGuinness, and following a fuel pit stop at the end of lap two he was less than five seconds down on second place. A mistake with a red flag being shown during lap three hampered the Dainese rider's chances and he finished third behind McGuinness, taking his 12th podium at the TT.

Guy Martin "I led the first couple of laps of a Senior TT so I can sleep happy tonight. We had great pit stops and I had the focus and drive, but that was as much as I could give out there today. I hit all my apexes, got on the throttle when I should have and the only places I lost time was late in the race passing backmarkers, as it took me a bit of time getting back up to speed. By heck I couldn't believe the attention I got out there with people shouting and waving at me all around the circuit. I could actually hear it through my ear plugs!

The job was really going all right and the bike never missed a beat so I'm a happy camper. I still haven't won one. I'm trying, but I'm glad I was able to push John today and I'll just have to come back next year and beat him wont I."
