Sepang GP: results

13 October 2003 | News

Even if the Malaysia GP race had not given Valentino e Dani Pedrosa their respective World Champion titles, it would have been equally unforgettable for the number of Dainese pilots on the winners' stand.
In addition to the convincingly ultimate victory by Valentino Rossi in the 500 Class, the third-place finish by Max Biaggi was no small feat, a result that keeps Max's hopes alive for a second-place ranking over rival Sete Gibernau in the final standings.

In the 250 Class, leader Manuel Poggiali and a rejuvenated Fonsi Nieto battled in a death-defying duel that featured breath-taking passes and final dashes for the second and third place positions as the San Marino ace edged out his Spanish rival by mere thousandths of seconds in the end.
This second-place win brings Manuel Poggiali even closer to a world title of his own with a 25-point advantage over his closest follower Tony Elias with just two races left in the season.

The 125 Class race won by Daniel Pedrosa also offered a surprising second-place finish by KTM pilot Mika Kallio. The Finnish racer came back from an annoying finger injury that had held him back in the two previous GP competitions and turned in a brilliant performance that brought him to the winners' stand for the first time in his racing career.
