The validity of the Dainese approach to design that combines form with function, and beauty with safety has been confirmed once again.
At the first "Eurobike Award Form, Function, Safety" organised by International Forum Design on the occasion of Eurobike 2005 (September 1-4, 2005 at the International Bicycle Trade Exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany), Dainese participated in the clothing and accessories category and won with not one but two of its products: the D-Raptor fiber helmet and the new Core Shirt Plus (Design: Changed, Italy, Renato Montagner).
The first is a full-face Downhill model with a shell entirely built in fibre-glass enhanced by a soft transparent paint treatment. Internal ventilation is promoted by 14 front air inlets and both lateral and rear air flow ducts.
The Core Shirt Plus is a free-ride jersey with new built-in protections provided with ventilation on the elbow and shoulders to be worn as the first layer especially during the warmer months.
The International Forum Design is considered one of the world's leading organisations in the industrial design sector and this only increases the prestige of this new acknowledgement for Dainese.
The assessment criteria were based on the quality of design, the choice of materials, the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, and safety.
As many as 210 participation requests were received from 14 countries around the world.
