RIESCH BACK ON TOP

In the World Cup slalom held on 12 January at Flachau (Austria), Maria Riesch offered us another good performance, adding another second place to the season’s cache in this speciality. The competition saw one of the top Dainese Team athletes as a strong leader, as she fought neck to neck right through to the end. Maybe the thought of being able to gain important points against Lindsey Vonn, who was knocked out in the first round, influenced her skiing in the second trial, preventing her from giving all she had.
Anyway, all told Maria can feel very satisfied with the result. In fact, thanks to these 80 points, she gets back to number one in the speciality classification and approaches the top of the general classification, holding strong in the fight for the Overall Champion. On the other hand, what a pity for Davide Simoncelli who, after having dominated the first round of Adelboden, had to give up to the fog that forced the race to be cancelled, denying him of the chance to be able to go for a win on the most famous giant slalom slope in the world.
