The Santa Monica is by far my most comfortable jacket. I also own a vented Teknic Violator. The Dainese breathes much better and provides much need relief from the Texas heat. At 60mph the 110 degree heat completely disappears. My only complaint is that white color gets dirty very quickly and has to be cleaned every few weeks. Overall this is an amazing jacket with tons of sex appeal.
I purchased the non-perforated version in black. Holy cow the leather is so soft! There is absolutely no break in time at all and it fits me like a glove (size 52 - I'm 5'9", 185, 1st trimester beer belly). So far it is great My only problem is that my G1 shield air back protector from another Dainese jacket will not fit in it because the opening is too small. But other than that it is great.
I love this jacket! Strong and confortable. I have leather pants and 2 pais of gloves all from Dainese too. I am looking for a boot and I will problabbly get Dainese too!
I only have 2 compains about it:
First: the neck collar. It is too big for me, I miss a way to adjust it.
Second: the zipper hold broke and desappear en now is very hard to open and close it. Otherwise is perfect!
this jacket is great.i would like to buy one but i see that you don't include Greece in the country field...Is Fyrom or Kazakistan biger markets than Greek?...
The Santa Monica is my second Dainese Jacket. I bought it after my previous one was looking a bit worse for wear after two separate accidents. I chose it because of Dainese's proven protection but also because of the sophisticated look and unique styling. Mine is white and I love that is it bright without screaming "Look at Me!" or suggesting that I think I'm a racing superstar. The close, form fitting cut is very good, though a touch on the short side for me at 6'2" (size 52). As expected, the quality is first rate from the top level perforated leather to the comfortable fabric panels under the pre-curved arms. I also particularly like the reflective detailing for added safety. Would I buy this Jacket again? Yes. Maybe next time in that menacing dark blue, though as the white does get dirty fast (shocking).
Great protection.I had two accidents one of them with over 150km/h.I was sliding on the road for quite some time and nothing happened to me as i was wearing that jacket.I will never change this jacket and i am extremely happy i bought it.My arms were automatically closed as well as my neck was positioned at a perfect angle (due to the back protection) so my head didn't slide on the road.Even my helmet didn't have any scratch after the accident. All in all great jacket and now that i know its value i would even pay double the money it costs.
The first time you try on a Dainese you'll realize it is the most comfortable leather jacket you ever worn. The leather is supple without need for break in, and it molds to your body the more you wear it! The Santa Monica jacket is technically sophisticated offering substantial protection in all the right places. Arms are pre-curved for added comfort in riding position. The fit is essentially a race suit without the lower half. I wear it with the Delta leather pants.
I was initially concerned about keeping my Santa Monica jacket staying white. Fortunately that has not been a problem at all... and I ride almost every day. My only complain is the neck fastener. I prefer the velcro neck fastener on my Bora jacket.
The Santa Monica leather jacket is a superb piece of motorcycle kit. Made with the new Dainese leather, the attention detail is superb. The jacket fits well across the back and the arm length is correct. There is a zip out quilted lining as well as a small speed hump on the back. There is also a good amount of perforated leather allowing the jacket to breathe as you ride. Some jackets can feel constraining and too tight but this jacket fits like a comfortable second skin. Totally recommended if you want to buy a high quality jacket. You can feel the quality in both the leather as well as the stitching and sheer solid weight of the jacket. A modern day Dainese classic.
