On Tuesday, January 24th Dainese and AGV hosted an open house at their D-Store Orange County in Costa Mesa debuting the 2011 collection as well as their newest sponsored athletes.
This exciting event was exclusive to industry insiders, press and media, and sponsored athletes to mark the official announcement of the newest members to the Dainese family. Moto GP World Champion Nicky Hayden has joined the Dainese team for the 2011 Moto GP season, AMA Superbike and AMA Supersport Champion Ben Bostrom, for AMA Superbike and Elena Myers, AMA Supersport winner for AMA Super Sport. Also on hand were longtime Dainese affiliates Chris Ulrich, Jason Pridmore and Steve Rapp.
The AGV AX-8 off road helmet was one of the key products presented at the event. The AX-8 was developed in collaboration with Supercross athlete, Davi Millsaps, during the 2010 Supercross series where Millsaps gave AGV its first ever Supercross victory in San Diego. AGV athlete Travis Pastrana, who also wore the AX-8 this past summer at the 2010 X- Games adding yet another two gold metals to his collection, arrived to the event in typical TP fashion riding his Suzuki RMZ 450 right through the middle of the showroom and onto the stage.
The Athletes convened onstage for a panel discussion with the press discussing past exploits and future plans.
The event concluded with a Dainese fashion show displaying the new products for 2011 like the Avro suit, the new color for the Laguna Seca Pro suit, the Alien and Rebel jackets and Dainese’s new casual collection, a collaborative effort with highly revered Italian fashion designers Franklin and Marshall which showcases bright hoody’s and T’s with retro themed logo’s and a tailored finish.
