THE RED GONDOLA AT KITZBUEHEL SPEAKS ITALIAN
23 July 2012 | News
Cristian Deville, the Dainese ambassador for safety on the slopes in the 2011-2012 season, has had a gondola named after him at the legendary resort of Kitzbuehel. Only four other Italians have received such an honour. Gustav Thoeni, Piero Gros, Alberto Tomba and Kristian Ghedina.
Tradition has it that the winner of the Kitzbuehel round of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is awarded this honour. It is thanks to such a win that Cristian has been awarded this very special prize in recognition of his success. One of red gondolas that carry skiers to the top of the legendary Streif run will now carry his name.
His win in the Kitzbuehel slalom has now made Cristian one of the greats who have written their names on the slopes that are considered to be the spiritual home of skiing.
On Wednesday 25 July at 9.30, Cristian will be meeting fans and the media at the ski lodge at the start of the World Cup race where he will celebrate this well deserved recognition. In the afternoon, Cristian and friends will be at an APT tennis match in Kitzbuehel.
