D-AIR®SKI: THE AIRBAG FOR COMPETITION SKIING BECOMES A REALITY.
Dainese and the International Ski Federation (FIS) officially presented the D-air®Ski, the protective system based on the D-air® airbag. This is the result of an understanding signed in January 2011.
The prototype was presented two years ago with the promise of producing an active version by the time of the Winter Olympics. D-air®Ski kept its promise and was first seen at the Val Gardena race and tested by Werner Heel, Jan Hudec, Manuel Osborne Paradis and other skiers from the Austrian and French federations.
The current system features the FIS-ISS (Injury Surveillance System) program and has seen numerous significant modifications over the prototype regarding the deployment algorithm, pneumatic components, ergonomics, inherent safety and aerodynamics.
