PEDROSA AND ROSSI WORLD CHAMPS!!
14 October 2003 | News
Valentino Rossi and Daniel Pedrosa win two fantastic World Titles in Malaysia and bring Dainese other record-breaking triumphs.
Valentino Rossi scored his seventh win of the year leaving worthy rivals Gibernau and Biaggi behind for the second and third place spots on the winners' stand in Sepang.
This splendid triumph allowed the ace from Tavullia to win the World Championship two races before the end of the season and celebrate the victory in his own unique way by staging a hilarious "liberation" comedy show along with the members of his fan club who had flown in to the Far East for the occasion.
The history-making result was the crowning moment of an action-packed season that demanded the greatest effort yet from Valentino, obliged to fight tooth and nail and much harder than in the previous 2002 season.
Dainese is proud to have stood beside him right from the start of his career and all along the way that has carried him into the pages of sports history as the only motorcycle pilot along with Read to have ever won world championships in every racing category.
On the very same day, Daniel Pedrosa was proclaimed winner of the 125 Class at the tender age of just 18 to enter the Dainese World Champion Hall of Fame.
The young Spaniard dominated the season and every other competitor to bring the title home two races in advance just like Valentino.
With this dramatic victory on the Sepang circuit that crowned a season distinguished by the athlete's constancy and determination in his first year with Dainese sponsorship, Daniel Pedrosa became the second-youngest title winner of all time, finishing behind the top six in only two races and scoring “0” points only once.
Hats off to you, World Champions!
