DAINESE: SAFETY ALWAYS AT THE FOREFRONT

30 June 2006 | News

After the dreadful falls of recent GP races the subject of safety, which for thirty years has been the corporate mission of Dainese and its champions, is back under the full glare of public opinion.
This commitment will be underscored once again by Dainese at the Donington GP, where it is to introduce two new protection systems to be added to the equipment of its emblematic pilot Valentino Rossi.
The Doctor will be wearing a special body protector covering the chest and abdomen area, which has been under development for the past few seasons and which Rossi has already tried out previously during private tests.
Moreover, to guarantee the maximum level of protection available, Valentino’s gloves have been fitted with special thermoformed inserts which will have the task of protecting the outer part of the palm, one of the points most exposed to shock in the event of a fall.
Great attention has been paid in particular to Valentino’s injured hand: in collaboration with Dr. Costa’s Clinica Mobile some technical adjustments have been made to the right glove to allow the seven times World Champion to grip the handlebar of his Yamaha M1.
