AWARDED BY VOLVO!

07 February 2006 | News

The participation of Dainese at ISPO 2006 - the international winter sports exhibition held this year from January 29 until February 1st in Munich - was rewarded with unusual success, and not only because the Dainese stand welcomed a steady stream of visitors all anxious for an exclusive preview of the new 2006 Skiwear Collection.
On Saturday, January 28, in fact, Dainese was honoured to receive the prestigious Volvo Sports Design Award in the “Body Protection” Category for its Core Jacket Out, a careful distillate of styling and protection featured in the new 2006 Skiwear Collection. As many as 300 products in 6 different categories participated in the competition, and the presence of such extremely qualified competitors as Mummuth and Patagonia was gratifying indeed.

The Core Jacket Out is composed of different layers of fabric and plastic that serve as a second protective skin. What's more, the jacket is extremely wind resistant and incorporates built-in back protection. In the summary provided by jury member Danielle Sellwood: “In my opinion, the Dainese Core Jacket Out is one of the most impressive products in competition, combining soft shell technology with breathable fabrics and the various advantages of both soft and stiff protection that can be worn singularly or all together. The jacket is incredibly versatile and comfortable at the same time, and creates its own modern and personal style. Dainese has always been one of the pioneers in the field of body protection and inspired many of the other products we see in the market today.”
Representing our company onstage at the Volvo Design Forum was Renato Montagner, the founder of the ChangeDesign Studio and Dainese Collection Art Director.
