MARIA RIESCH HOLDS A POKER HAND

Dainese team flag-bearer Maria Riesch is certainly enjoying fine form right now. From the end of 2008 and the start of 2009, the German athlete has held a poker hand of victories in special slalom competition on the slopes in La Molina, Semmering, Zagreb, and Maribor that have launched her into second place in the overall standings just behind Lindsey Vonn.
Male Dainese-sponsored skiers are also doing well, first of all Aksel Svindal, who returned to the winners’ platform with a splendid 2nd place finish in the Super G race in Kitzbuehel on Friday, January 23, achieving an important result on one of the most prestigious slopes in the world that assumes extra importance in light of the coming World Ski Championship in Val d’Isere.
This result brought Svindal precious points in the overall standings and now he’s just 40 points behind Benjamin Raich.
