DAINESE WINS THREE TITLES
03 November 2003 | News
“It was only in 1980 with Kenny Roberts (Senior) in the 500 Class, Jon Eckerold astride a 350, Toni Mang on a 250 and Piepaolo Bianchi in the 125 Category that all the World Champions were sponsored by Dainese.
Now in the 2003 season, Dainese repeats the trick and scores three World Championship Titles with Rossi, Poggiali, and Pedrosa.
Rossi enters the pantheon of the greatest champion racers the likes of Agostini,
Hailwood, and Doohan, and is now tooling up to meet new challenges with Yamaha.
Poggiali wins the title in his first season in the 250 Category, a feat that not even Rossi could match.
Pedrosa is the day's enfant terrible, the representative of a fresh generation of Spanish pilots destined to further success in the future.
Dainese is gratified by this acknowledgement of the effort it has made for the greater safety of racing pilots and motorcycle riders everywhere.
The transfer of protection technology from the race track to city streets has always been the primary Dainese objective in World Championship racing.
All biking enthusiasts can now find the proud results of Dainese labour at their nearest dealers: from the Talos and Bora suits to D-Axial boots, the Wave spine protection, and as of January 2004, Speed Metal gloves.
We'd like to thank all the pilots, all the members of the Dainese D-Mobile, and the D-Tec Team technicians for making 2003 such a truly fantastic season!"
