CATALUNYA GRAND PRIX - BOILING TEMPERATURES FOR BLAZING BATTLES
16 June 2003 | News
Motorcycle Grand Prix: 2nd Rossi; 250 2nd F. Nieto; 125 1st Pedrosa.
Breath-taking emotions ran high in the Grand Prix 500 cc class before Valentino staged a comeback worthy of the silver screen to claim 2nd place after running straight off the track in the 17th lap.
250: Poggiali was close behind De Puniet when he suffered an engine breakdown and lost the important place on the winner's platform grabbed by Fonsi Nieto, who waited too long before attacking the Frenchman thinking there was still one more lap to go.
In the 125 Category, Pedrosa confirmed his class and won his home-town Grand Prix race hands down before almost 100,000 screaming spectators packing the house at the Catalunya circuit.
Dainese pilots stand at the top of all three racing categories: three champs the likes of Vale, Poggiali and Pedrosa. We'll be waiting for you at the next round in Assen, the "university" of international motorcycle racing.
