ART AND PROTECTION, A COMBINATION POSSIBLE WITH DAINESE

Protecting yourself is intelligent, protecting yourself is for winners, protecting yourself is also “cool”.
This is the message launched by Dainese at the Bologna MotorShow, where it has asked four American street art artists to interpret the intersection between art, protection and sport.
Tarmac, grass, snow and water are the four playgrounds in which Dainese protection supplies all sporting enthusiasts with the most suitable instruments to enjoy their favourite sport. Motorcycling, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, kite surfing or jet skiing are the sports for which Dainese currently offers a specifically designed line of protective clothing.
Protection in sport seen through the eyes of Jennifer Garcia (New York), Dave Kinsey (Los Angeles), Abel Izaguirre (Los Angeles) and Marc Cabrera (Boston), to launch on the roads the message portrayed by great champions such as Valentino Rossi, Giorgio Rocca and many others during each race: “I enjoy myself (and win) in safety with the right preparation and the right equipment.”
Street art transmits all this through a graphic code which originated in large American cities and was adopted by the younger generations.
The surfaces chosen for the artists’ work are four Panda 4x4, a vehicle which well reflects the mobility on all terrains required to practice the sports represented.
The problem of safety on the roads and in sport is becoming increasingly important. Dainese’s commitment towards promoting the “culture” of protection is also reinforced through this initiative, presented in an innovative, agreeable and shareable way.
After the “premiere” in Bologna, the installation will be moved to Munich where collaboration between Dainese and the Fiat Freestyle Team will be presented at the ISPO Fair. The subsequent appointment is in Turin for the 2006 Winter Olympics, the ideal stage from which to set up new projects dedicated to safety in sport. Always “Inspired by humans”.
