DAINESE WORKS WITH PININFARINA AND LOUIS VUITTON ON THE ENJOY PROJECT
17 June 2004 | News
The magnificent castle of Waddesdon (Oxford UK) provided the sparkling setting for the Louis Vuitton Classic, one of the world's most prestigious rallies for vintage automobiles. This year's event (2004) was distinguished by an extraordinary milestone: the 150th birthday of the Louis Vuitton company that was originally founded for the production of suitcases and accessories for the most sophisticated and demanding travellers.
This event was selected as the moment for the presentation of Enjoy, a twin-seat sports car to be produced by Pininfarina using the refined carbon frame of the famous Lotus with one of Toyota's most advanced engines.
The racy convertible's interiors and aesthetics were designed with new materials by Louis Vuitton and all the exclusive atmosphere evoked by the stylist's products.
The Enjoy convertible will be produced in a limited edition of 75 and delivered to lucky purchasers equipped with leather suits designed and tailored by Dainese for both driver and passenger. Styling, cuts and ergonomics were all developed with this specific use in mind, while the colours of the leather and the graphics match the luxurious look of the vehicle itself.
Dainese, Louis Vuitton, and Pininfarina make an absolutely original triumvirate that on second thought might not be quite as surprising as at first: all three vaunt long traditions in design, sports, and technology.
