The new skiing season is about to start. The Ski World Cup will begin this weekend with the traditional opening ceremony at Soelden (Austria). The best skiers on the international scene will be lining up at the starting gate and among them there are many Dainese skiers. It will be a season full of spectacular events such as the great classics of Wengen, Adelboden and Kitzbuehel, the return to Madonna di Campiglio for the slalom and especially the World Ski Championship at Schladming in February 2013. There will be a total of 38 women's and 36 men's races in the best known skiing resorts anywhere in the world.
The following skiers are those who have chosen Dainese safety for their performance.
In the women's races, Maria Hoefl-Riesch is the star of the team and will be joined by her fellow German Gina Stechert, the Italians Manuela Moelgg and Sofia Goggia not to mention the Swedish skiers Anna Swenn-Larsson and Therese Borssen.
The men's team consists of the Italians Cristian Deville, Manfred Moelgg, Stefano Gross, Werner Heel, Florian Eisath and Roberto Nani, the Canadians Jan Hudec, John Kucera, Manuel Osborne-Paradis and Robbie Dixon and finally the Swedes Andrè Myhrer, Jens Byggmark, Axel Baeck, Matts Olsson and Jon Olsson.
Dainese will be caring for its skiers throughout the whole season and providing technical assistance to those who use protection only and to others who also wear helmets, masks and gloves.
Development work on the D-air Ski project will be carried out at the same time. During the many rounds of the Ski World Cup, the best Dainese skiers will be carrying a special data collection device to enable us to define the deployment algorithm for our airbag which is the first of its type in the history of skiing.
