ARRIBA, ARRIBA!!!

20 June 2006 | News

It was a great weekend for Valentino Rossi in Barcelona after first winning the pole position and then the following MotoGP race on the Catalunya track, where he gained precious points on his way to the top of the final standings.
The Tavullia racer's driving skills and breath-taking skids at the end of the race were a rare treat for motorcycle racing fans to see in a race that was unfortunately compromised by the terrible accident at the start.
Now Valentino Rossi is hot on the heels of Nicky Hayden, who still stands at the top of the pack with a 29 point lead over the Doctor, who is already getting into high gear for Saturday's race in Assen, Holland.
In 250 cc competition, Jorge Lorenzo turned in a fine performance and finished 2nd behind Dovizioso, where the latter maintains his lead in the final standings over the former.
After getting off to a great start in the 125 cc Division, Thomas Lüthi was forced to surrender to the overwhelming power of the Spaniards on the Aspar team and had to resign himself to an honourable 6th place finish, which was all the more gratifying following the recent injury to his collar bone.
