D-air® 2009

The 2009 season marked an important development with the completion of work on integrating the system, which saw the bags housed in a special cavity in the rider's racing suit. This cavity featured an elastic upper material to deflate the airbag automatically after activation, leaving the rider free to concentrate on riding.

The weight was brought down to around 650g.
The triggering algorithm was made even more reliable.
The reliability of the airbags during inflation was improved.
The stability of the protective bags was improved.
The entire system was engineered to enable easier mass production.
