VALE FOR PRESIDENT

Misano Adriatico, 29 August 2008. During an event held in Riccione Lino Dainese, the founder and current president of Dainese S.p.a., appointed Valentino Rossi as Honorary President of AGV, the historic Italian crash helmet manufacturing firm that Dainese acquired in 2007.
Dainese decided to bestow this prestigious title on Valentino in heartfelt recognition of its esteem and faith in the man, rather than the champion, sealing their collaboration that has grown and consolidated over many years of working and obtaining results together.
As Lino Dainese affirmed: “Valentino Rossi has been the thread – or rather, the steel cable – that has managed to keep AGV connected with motorcycle racing at times when this historic firm had lost that particular verve and freshness which, from its outset, had made it become a world leader in the manufacture of crash helmets. Thanks to his exploits, his commitment to his craft and his enthusiasm, Valentino has nurtured the AGV brand, taking it to the highest level of the podium.
That is why AGV has decided to make Valentino Rossi an honorary president of AGV.”
Dainese concluded its acquisition of AGV in July 2007, thereby returning this historic crash helmet manufacturer to Italian ownership following its purchase in 2002 by the Belgian Imag group. These two important firms have always played a leading role in innovations and in the exploits of the most famous riders in the history of motorcycling, and to bear witness to the parallel path they have trod, the great Giacomo Agostini, the iconic champion and testimonial for the two companies, also attended the event as guest of honour.
The event also provided the occasion for the presentation of the book published in celebration of AGV’s 60th Anniversary, in which the milestones achieved by this historic company are recounted through the riders involved.
