La Coppa del mondo di sci è ripresa dopo più di un mese dall’Opening di Soelden. A Lake Louise, in Canada, gli uomini hanno gareggiato in discesa libera e in super G. Sulle nevi di Aspen in Colorado, si è assistito invece ad uno slalom gigante ed uno slalom speciale del circuito femminile.

Nella giornata di sabato i risultati per gli atleti Dainese sono stati solo discreti. Buono il dodicesimo posto del canadese Jan Hudec, neo acquisto del team Dainese e solo discreto il quattordicesimo posto del campione norvegese Aksel Lund Svindal nella gara di discesa libera. In campo femminile, Manuela Moelgg ha concluso lo slalom gigante al diciannovesimo posto, mentre Maria Hoefl Riesch è uscita di gara nella seconda manche.

Le gare di domenica hanno invece riservato grandi soddisfazioni. Aksel Lund Svindal ha vinto la gara di super G grazie ad una prestazione strepitosa. Un ritorno al successo in questa disciplina dopo quasi 2 anni ed un segnale importante per la lotta alla conquista della Coppa del Mondo generale, obiettivo principale per stessa ammissione di Aksel. A completare il successo Dainese, ottimo il quarto posto di Jan Hudec, sceso con il proibitivo pettorale numero 44. E altrettanto valida la sesta posizione del campione del mondo in carica di discesa libera Erik Guay, canadese e da poco entrato a far parte del team Dainese.

In campo femminile, riscatto di Maria Hoefl Riesch, salita sul terzo gradino del podio al termine della gara di slalom. Manuela Moelgg ha chiuso al settimo posto grazie ad una bella rimonta nella seconda frazione, chiusa con il secondo tempo di manche.

Appuntamento al week end prossimo a Beaver Creek (USA) per il circuito maschile e Lake Louise (Canada) per quello femminile.

The Ski World Cup is up and running again after over a month since the opening in Soelden with the men’s downhill and super G at Lake Louise, in Canada, and women’s super G and the hybrid slalom held on the snows of Aspen, Colorado.

On the Saturday, the results achieved by the Dainese athletes were nothing to write home about with the adequate twelfth place of the Canadian, Jan Hudec, new addition to the Dainese team and the fourteenth place of the Norwegian champion Aksel Lund Svindal in the downhill race. On the women’s side, Manuela Moelgg finished nineteenth in the super G, while Maria Hoefl Riesch was eliminated in the second run.

Sunday’s competitions were a different story however with the amazing performance of Aksel Lund Svindal leading him to victory in the super G. A return to the podium in this sport after almost 2 years and a good omen for the battle for the general World Cup, Aksel’s main objective by his own admission. Completing the success of Dainese was the excellent fourth place of Jan Hudec, racing with the prohibitive number 44 racing bib., and the sixth place of the current downhill world champion, the Canadian Erik Guay, a recent addition to the Dainese team.

In the women’s races Maria Hoefl Riesch made a real return, arriving third on the podium at the end of the slalom, and Manuela Moelgg came in seventh thanks to a good comeback in the second run, finishing with the second best time.

The next appointment is for next weekend at Beaver Creek (USA) for the men’s circuit and Lake Louise (Canada) for the women’s.
