La Coppa del Mondo maschile si trasferisce in Norvegia, a Kvitfjell. Sulle nevi di casa, Aksel Lund Svindal ritrova i risultati che gli competono e sale due volte sul podio. Nella gara inaugurale di venerdì 2 marzo chiude al quinto posto in super gigante. Il giorno seguente è terzo in discesa libera e domenica 4 marzo ottiene il secondo posto, nuovamente in super gigante. Grazie a questi risultati, Svindal mantiene il comando della classifica generale di super gigante, quando manca solamente la finale di Schladming (Austria), tra meno di due settimane. Il canadese Erik Guay conferma costanza di rendimento e chiude i due super giganti al nono posto, mentre è dodicesimo in discesa libera. Il connazionale Jan Hudec è tredicesimo e diciannovesimo in super gigante, ventottesimo in discesa. Infine l’azzurro Werner Heel, ventitreesimo e diciassettesimo nei due super giganti.

In campo femminile, si disputano tre gare a Ofterschwang (Germania). Maria Hoefl-Riesch non porta a termine le due gare di slalom gigante in programma e chiude al nono posto la gara di slalom. L’azzurra Manuela Moelgg esce di gara nel primo gigante ed è sedicesima nel secondo. In slalom termina in diciannovesima posizione.

The men’s Ski World Cup moved to Kvitfjell, Norway this weekend where on home ground Aksel Lund Svindal rediscovered his best form, with two results on the podium. In the first race on Friday 2 March he came fifth in the super G, finishing third the next day in the downhill and second on Sunday 4 March, again in the Super G. With these results Svindal is keeping a firm hold on his leadership of the general Super G ranking, with just one race to go, the final in Schladming (Austria), in less than two weeks’ time. The Canadian Erik Guay confirmed his constant performance with two ninth places in the two Super Gs and a twelfth place in the downhill. His countryman, Jan Hudec came in thirteenth and nineteenth in the super Gs and twenty-eighth in the downhill. Lastly, the Italian Werner Heel, finished twenty-third and seventeenth in the two super Gs.

On the women’s circuit there were three races in Ofterschwang (Germany). Maria Hoefl-Riesch failed to finish the two giant slaloms scheduled and came in ninth in the slalom while the Italian Manuela Moelgg abandoned the first giant slalom and came sixteenth in the second, finishing nineteenth in the slalom.
