We hear a lot about how technology from the bikes themselves "trickle down" to become innovations on street bikes, but could you talk a bit about advancements in safety gear over the years and how you see these improvements making street riders safer?

First I want to Thank You for all the years of racing that I've gotten to watch. Especially your dirt tracking pass of Stoner at Laguna Seca in the cork screw has to go down as the best of all time. This leads me to my Question. With your obvious Skills sliding on the dirt making passes and seeing the look on your face at the Indy Mile when Kenny Roberts was riding the TZ750 Dirt Tracker. After you retire is there any way you might think about coming to the USA and racing our GNC Series on maybe a Ducati Flat Tracker ? Good Luck next Year Vale.

Ciao Vale, nonostante i miei 45 anni, faccio parte del tuo fan club da alcuni anni ed ho imparato ad amare le moto e le corse grazie a te, ma è una cosa usuale per te: questo è uno dei tanti motivi per cui il motociclismo ti deve moltissimo. A parte questo, io sono sempre stata contraria al tuo sodalizio con la Ducati (sapevo che non era la moto per te e che ti avrebbero fatto passare un anno come questo: sono bolognese e credo di aver inquadrato benino la casa motociclistica ed il furbo Livio Suppo e quel che ti ha lasciato in eredità. Non ho mai smesso di tifare per te, anzi, più sei in crisi, e più ti sono vicina, questo credo debbano fare i fan, ma sono anche sicura che tu hai ancora molto da dare e da sorprenderci. Dopo questa lunga parafrasi (ti assicuro che avrei fiumi di parole da scriverti), la mia domanda è: "HAI MAI PENSATO DI CORRERE UN MONDIALE CON UNA MOTO TUA, UN TUO TEAM, TUOI SPONSOR?" Il denaro e gli sponsor non credo ti manchino o faticheresti a trovarli, meccanici, e team, nemmeno e, francamente, credo sarebbe la più bella soddisfazione ed il più grande smacco che potresti dare a chi crede in te, nel primo caso, e a chi non crede in te, nel secondo. La maturità e le capacità le hai, ami le nuove sfide e, nel peggiore dei casi, una volta lasciate le corse (non smettere troppo presto, ti prego!), avresti le tue moto, targate VR-DOC e piloti che correrebbero per te, non è da sboroni? (alla faccia della Ducati!). Adesso, commenti negativi sulla Ducati non ne puoi fare, ma non ti preoccupare, li faccio io, anche se ritengo che la casa bolognese hanno sfornato le più belle moto d'epoca della storia, ma qui la Ducati non c'entra, la mia domanda è su un'idea che, NE SONO CERTA, in testa di dev'essere balenata...oltre al RALLY, altra alternativa degna di te dopo il motociclismo (altro che la Formula 1, noia pura!!!). Che tu mi risponda o no, sappi, comunque, che io sarò ben felice di vederti in sella ad una moto ancora per tanto, tanto tempo, tutto quello che tu vorrai e che ti sentirai e che sono una persona che non dimentica,non solo tutte le tue vittorie, ma anche tutto quello che hai dato e fatto al e per il motociclismo, alla faccia di chi, appena uno perde, è solo pronto a criticare! Sei un mito e questo lo sai, sei simpatico e alla mano, sei quasi romagnolo (e solo per questo sono 100 punti in più) e ora, CON IL NOSTRO SIC in sella con te, sempre, rispaccherai il mondo, lo so. Ciao Vale..la mia domanda è..essendo un personaggio famoso nel mondo del motociclismo, e di conseguenza dello sport mondiale..se fai uno sbaglio o un passo 'falso', diciamo che vieni subito preso di mira..ci sono state molte critiche e molti attacchi verso di te perchè la stagione 2011 non è stata delle migliori, ma come riesci a uscirne sempre a testa alta?? è solo una questione di carattere che ti fa restare così positivo, oppure ci sono comunque delle critiche che ti feriscono e ti fanno venire voglia di 'mandarli tutti a quel paese', ma alla fine cerchi di nascondere lo stesso ciò che vorresti dire davvero??.. Ciao Vale sono Carlo!Sono fisioterapista e motociclista di Roma appassionato da anni!Per la sicurezza dei motociclisti sono stati fatti passi da gigante e questo è chiaro, vorrei rivolgere l'attenzione però ad un argomento che per me, come credo per tutti, è da considerarsi di primaria importanza: le protezioni...Non che non ci siano o non funzionino anzi!Ma una parte del corpo troppo importante d...a poter essere trascurata rimane da sempre perennemente sovraesposta a traumi di tutti i tipi..IL COLLO (TRATTO CERVICALE)!Durante una caduta il collo può essere soggetto a tutte le più pericolose dinamiche:iperflessione/iperestensione,inclinazioni laterali e traumi.Ora se si trattasse di un braccio o una gamba la condizione sarebbe anche accettabile ma un danno a livello del tratto cervicale può determinare disabilità importanti come la tetraplegia o addirittura la morte come è accaduto al caro Simoncelli. Al di la di danni gravi il collo rimane comunque una zona molto complessa e delicata che anche in assenza di traumi permanenti può comunque, dopo aver ricevuto delle sollecitazioni,recare problemi nel corso della vita.In virtù di questo ti chiedo se si sta facendo qualcosa in questa direzione, per cercare di proteggere, per quel che è possibile, questa zona del corpo che effettivamente ha estrema necessità di muoversi durante la guida, soprattutto ai livelli agonistici.Ti volevo anche chiedere poi visto che mi occupo di rieducazione posturale se durante tutte le tue cadute hai mai avuto dolori al collo, non che te la voglia tirare s'intende, io sono un tuo fan sin dagli inizi,ma è solo per avere un quadro più statistico della frequenza degli infortuni a questo segmento del corpo o se non tu magari i tuoi compagni di bagarre...insomma se senti spesso parlare di problemi al collo in seguito a cadute in pista, io in particolar modo mi sentirei molto più al sicuro se avessi modo di proteggere questa parte così importante che nella mia ultima caduta in pista mi ha dato problemi.So che tu essendo un riferimento per tutti potresti farti portavoce di sistemi di sicurezza innovativi che magari potrebbero salvare diverse vite.Grazie delle emozioni che mi dai sempre e tieni duro perchè sei un orgoglio nazionale!

Caro Vale, innanzi tutto complimenti! Mi piacerebbe sapere come ti spieghi il fatto che nei campionati mondiali di velocità si vedono sempre meno piloti italiani che si giocano le migliori posizioni. Non credi forse che una delle possibili cause sia da attribuire a delle regole burocratiche eccessive che vengono oltrepassate solo con il denaro; che in Italia non tutti i giovani possano mettersi alla prova sui circuiti senza dover rendere conto a mille ostacoli? Che la Federazione debba iniziare a farsi delle domande e cambiare qualcosa? Se pensi che in questo ci sia una parte di vero; sarebbe bello, visto tutto quello che hai fatto per il motociclismo e visto il tuo “potere” che parlassi magari con le persone giuste per facilitare le cose in un futuro... Un grande in bocca al lupo per l'anno prossimo! ;) P.S. È stato stupendo essere a Monza. E che emozione indescrivibile quando abbiamo festeggiato tutti insieme, i successi, con il Sic sopra a tutti! My name is Ferdi, I' am 20 years old and I'am from Numansdorp (a little town in the Netherlands). I' am a motorcycle mechanic student. I' am a fan of you since the first second I was able to look through my eyes. I support you at every corner of the world in good and in bad times. You're a great rider, you have won a lot of GP's(105) and you have won 9 world titles(so winning became a bit as a part of your daily routine). Now that "we" have joined Ducati your daily routine changed a bit. I twitter a lot with your mechanic(Alex briggs) and he tells and explains a lot about how hard all the mechanics work but the results are a bit disappointed. I admire them because I' am also a mechanic, I admire you aswell because still you haven't won a race this year but you haven't given up. My question for you is: How hard is it for you as a winner to not being able to win a race (after winning at least 1 race every season) when you and your team are working and trying so hard to get the best set-up for a race. How do you keep motivated. I wish you all the best of and I know that next year is going to be "our" year.

I think you are not agree with Ducati, you can win with any bike because you´re one of the best drivers. The Desmosedici is so hard to drive, but is possible, please, if you cannot win with Ducati, please, please don´t build a italian red Yamaha.

Ciao campione, durante il passaggio dalla Honda alla Yamaha, nel 2003, la M1 era una moto “sfigata” e Tu insieme a Jeremy Burgess l’avete trasformata in una Grande Moto. Nel 2010 questo matrimonio con la Yamaha, che ha portato ben 4 titoli mondiali, è finito. Nel 2011 ti sei trovato in sella alla Ducati, che ha origine da un’azienda che segue una sua filosofia tradizionalista e per tale motivo i risultati si sono visti: poca aderenza sull’avantreno che ti impediva di effettuare anche i sorpassi più semplici, quelli che, lo sappiamo tutti, sono il tuo forte. Durante questa stagione difficile, davanti alle telecamere, ti sei sempre mostrato sorridente anche dopo cadute pericolose. Volevo chiederti: ti è mai capitato di fermarti un attimo e riflettere se valeva la pena continuare a correre con una moto che il verbo “vincere” non lo conosce? Spero che per il prossimo anno la situazione cambi e che la Ducati sia all’altezza delle posizioni che contano e anche per il titolo. Ciao Vale, ricordo che in una tua intervista (non ricordo quale precisamente) dicevi che un pilota per dare il massimo in pista quando mette il casco e si accende la moto nella sua testa deve esserci il "silenzio", volevo chiederti se nell'ultima stagione e più precisamente in questo periodo se, quando metti il casco, c'è questo "silenzio" nella tua testa.
