Per tutta la durata del Motomondiale ospiteremo gli spunti di riflessione e le pungenti provocazioni di Nico Cereghini, pilota-giornalista. Da leggere e commentare prima e dopo ogni gara.
Finalmente in pista, finalmente con le stesse gomme, tutti insieme. Jerez, official test del 28 e 29 marzo. Riuscirà Valentino a tener dietro Stoner e conquistare la BMW? E che Hayden vedremo sulla Ducati? E Dovizioso sulla Honda ufficiale farà meglio dell’amletico Pedrosa? Da vedere!

Finally they’re back on the track, with the same tires, all together in Jerez at the official tests on March 28 and 29. Will Valentino Rossi succeed in keeping Casey Stoner behind him and win the BMW? How will Nicky Hayden ride his Ducati? Will Dovizioso on an official Honda fare better than “Hamlet” Pedrosa. It all remains to be seen!

- Dietro, bene Suzuki e poi basta.
Questi sono i miei “titoli” per l’ora dei test comuni a Jerez, e voi che ne dite? Casey è il solito incredibile scattista che sul giro secco pare inattaccabile. Sulla Desmosedici –l’unica che va davvero a tutta birra perché anche Hayden fatica oltre il normale- resta tostissimo per tutti. Valentino poteva fare un po’ meglio, come dice lui stesso, senza la pioggia che ha anticipato la conclusione; ma in ogni caso ammette che sarebbe stato dietro e comunque è soddisfatto del suo passo gara, che è il migliore in assoluto. Dopo due giorni di prove ben fatte, Rossi ha trovato un bella configurazione per la sua M1, e se fosse la vigilia della corsa sarebbe molto fiducioso.
Dietro alla coppia d’assi della MotoGP c’è ancora una volta Capirossi, protagonista in tutti i test invernali, con una Suzuki che si potrebbe rivelare davvero pericolosa. Invece la Honda delude, e tanto: Dovizioso settimo e staccato, Pedrosa rimasto a casa a riprendere le forze, Elias ancora più indietro con l’altra RC ufficiale. A momenti va più forte anche Melandri con la Kawasaki ritrovata…
Però, al di là di ogni considerazione, bello rivedere in pista gli amici piloti. Con la voglia di ricominciare da capo, stessa adrenalina e vinca il migliore.

These are my headlines as the tests in Jerez are scheduled to begin. What do you say? As usual, Casey is unbelievable and looks unbeatable in the straightaway. Astride his Desmosedici – the only one that runs as smooth as oil because also Hayden apparently also has to work overtime - he’s a tough cookie for anyone to put down. Valentino could have done better, as he says himself, without the rain that brought the race to an early end; but in any case he admits that he wouldn’t have won anyway and is fairly satisfied with his overall pace, which was the best of all. After two days of well-run testing, Rossi came up with a good configuration for his M1, and if the race were to be run the next day he’d be pretty confident.
Behind these two MotoGP aces once again comes the star of all the winter tests, Loris Capirossi, on a Suzuki that might well prove to be contender. Honda instead was very disappointing. Dovizioso came in 7th, far behind; Pedrosa stayed at home to regain his strength; Elias came in even further behind with the other official RC. Occasionally even Melandri went faster on his new-found Kawasaki…
Above and beyond everything else, it was great seeing our friends back on the track again, all with the desire to start all over again from scratch with the same adrenaline as before. May the best rider win!
