GREAT RESULTS FOR THE DAINESE SKIERS IN THE ALPINE WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT AT SCHLADMING

Dainese equipped skiers won four medals in the World Ski event at Schladming.
Maria Hoefl-Riesch is the new World Champion in the super combined category which involves a downhill race and a special slalom. Maria, who was fourth in the downhill event, skied perfectly in the slalom to take first place in the standings. Not even Tina Maze, who has been the indisputable leader this season, could do anything about the German and had to settle for silver.
Maria Hoefl-Riesch was in such good form that she then went on to add two bronze medals to her collection for the downhill and the team event.
Manfred Moelgg skied very well and took a bronze in the giant slalom event. Above him on the podium was Ted Ligety, the man of the Championship, who won three golds in just a few days and Marcel Hirscher, the local hero. Manfred attacked with abandon, made a serious mistake in both heats but recovered with sheer brilliance. This is Manfred's third world championship medal after his silver in the slalom at Are 2007 and his bronze, again in the slalom, at Garmisch 2011.
Sofia Goggia also skied very well on her debut in the World Championship series and came home eighth in the super combined. The twenty-one year old from Bergamo would seem to have a great future ahead of her.
