Another important coronation was held the other day, this time in Sepang, Malaysia, and this time the king was SuperSic.
The Dainese and AGC team member (like Valentino Rossi) won his first world championship in the 250 cc class. It was enough for Marco to finish 3rd in the Sepang race to make the biggest victory in his young career. In addition to a fun-loving spirit that has endeared him to one and all the MotoGP fans, this 21-year old racer has also and more importantly shown enormous talent. This was an almost perfect season for Marco, with ery few mistakes, tons of determination, and many victories.
The curly-haired racer was so excited when he crossed the finish line that he could hardly say a word, but celebrating at his side was buddy Valentino Rossi, who has always provided Marco with his support. Valentino ended his own race in Sepang with his 9th win in the 2008 MotoGP season. Val’s biggest enemies this time were the sticky heat and a hot-blooded Daniel Pedrosa. Rossi was able to take the lead only 10 laps before the end of the race, and that’s when the action heated up to a battle of endurance in the broiling 40°C heat. During the post-race interview, the Doctor confessed that he’d like to close this season with 10 victories. This year’s last race will be held in Valencia, where the standings will take their final form.
