Lo scorso week end di Coppa del Mondo ha visto stravolto il programma per via delle avverse condizioni meteo. Il circuito femminile prevedeva uno slalom gigante ed uno slalom a Courchevel, in Francia. Un’abbondante nevicata sulla località transalpina ha consentito di disputare solamente la gara di slalom. Purtroppo sono mancati i risultati delle nostre atlete di punta: Maria Hoefl Riesch, dopo aver fatto segnare il secondo miglior tempo nella prima manche, è uscita di gara nella seconda frazione, quando era in piena lotta per un risultato sul podio. Niente da fare anche per Manuela Moelgg, uscita di scena già nella prima prova.

In campo maschile, il programma prevedeva un intenso week end in Italia. In Val Gardena, un super gigante ed una discesa libera, mentre in Val Badia, uno slalom gigante ed uno slalom. La gara di super gigante è andata regolarmente in scena. Aksel Lund Svindal ha consolidato la sua leadership nella classifica generale di Coppa del Mondo grazie ad un ottimo quarto posto. Buona gara anche per il canadese Jan Hudec, 10° al traguardo. La discesa libera è stata purtroppo annullata a causa di una forte bufera di vento e neve. Domenica 18 dicembre si è corso lo slalom gigante della Val Badia. Una delle gare di maggior prestigio del circuito, sull’impegnativa pista Gran Risa. Dopo aver fatto segnare il terzo tempo nella prima manche, Aksel Lund Svindal ha dovuto accontentarsi dell’ottava piazza, aggiungendo comunque punti preziosi alla classifica generale. Diciannovesimo Manfred Moelgg. Lunedì 19 dicembre è stata la volta dello slalom. Dopo il fantastico podio di Beaver Creek, l’azzurro Cristian Deville conferma l’ottimo stato di forma classificandosi al sesto posto. Fuori gara Manfred Moelgg che aveva chiuso la prima frazione con un incoraggiante quinto posto. Quarto lo svedese Andre Myhrer, ottavo l’azzurro Stefano Gross, entrambe dotati di protezioni Dainese.

Last weekend’s Ski World Cup programme was severely disrupted as a result of the poor weather conditions; on the women’s circuit of the giant slalom and slalom scheduled to be raced in Courchevel, France, only the slalom took place with an abundant snowfall leading to cancellation of the GS. Unfortunately our top athletes also failed to put in a good appearance: after getting the second best time in the first run Maria Hoefl Riesch was eliminated in the second heat, right when she was battling for a place on the podium. No luck for Manuela Moelgg either, eliminated in the first run.

On the men’s front, the programme had been for an intense weekend in Italy with a Super G and downhill in Val Gardena and a giant slalom and slalom in Val Badia. The super G race ran regularly with Aksel Lund Svindal consolidating his leadership in the general Ski World cup ranking thanks to his excellent fourth place. The Canadian Jan Hudec also had a good race, ending 10th on the finishing line. The downhill was unfortunately cancelled on account of a strong blizzard. Sunday 18 December was the day of the giant slalom of Val Badia, one of the most prestigious races on the difficult slope of Gran Risa. After getting third best time in the first run, Aksel Lund Svindal had to make do with eighth place, in any case adding precious points to his total, while Manfred Moelgg came in nineteenth. Monday 19 December was the turn of the slalom; after his fantastic podium in Beaver Creek, the Italian Cristian Deville confirmed his excellent physical condition coming in sixth. Manfred Moelgg, who had ended the first run with an encouraging fifth place was eliminated, while the Swede Andre Myhrer came in fourth and the Italian Stefano Gross eighth, both wearing Dainese protectors.
